Worth?

What are you worth? Maybe thinking that you don't measure up with the neighbors? Less that you had hoped for? Less than mom and dad? Probably more than almost all the people on the face of the earth.

Christians enjoy stuff but never determine their worth by possessions.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Matthew 6:25-26 (NIV)

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NIV - even though this s about women, it applies to us all)

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them….God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:27 & 31a (NIV)

Be easy on yourself today. You are soooooooooooooooooooooo special regardless of the state of your portfolio (or health or employment or family condition.) Look for what God sees as so special in you. And extend this gift to others – those we judge superior because of their fame and fortune and those we judge as inferior or invisible due to their lack of wealth.
