4 Types

I have found that there are 4 types of volunteers and each is lead differently.

·         Those who do what's best

·         Those who do exactly what was asked

·         Those who do what they want

·         Those who find a way not to do much

For those who do what is best, get out of their way.

For those who do exactly what's been asked, be very clear.

For those who do what they want, steer them where their wants matched true needs.

For those who find a way not to do much, love them but don't let them drive the bus.

People can be in any other these situations due to personality, season of life, and current pressures. A leader needs to know and respond well. A leader encourages growth even while gauging pastoral needs.

Ministry is volunteering for the love of Christ. Leaders understand the "love" of Christ is more important than the "level" of response. Encourage the love and the levels will take care of themselves. Love is the acid test.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,

and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33
